The City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) cleared a plot estimated to be worth around Rs 400 crore of encroachments on the Palm Beach Road in Navi Mumbai on Monday.
The encroached plot was reserved for a playground and garden.
According to Vijay Kalam-Patil, who heads the anti-encroachment cell of the CIDCO, some 13 structures had come up on the plot in Sector 36 near Karave village of Navi Mumbai around 15 days ago. More than 200 CIDCO officials and workers demolished the structures with the help of 62 Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) employees amid tight security—136 personnel from the Navi Mumbai Police and the State Reserve Police Force were deployed for the drive.

Land prices soaring in Navi Mumbai
Land prices in Navi Mumbai are going through the roof. In some areas, prices have gone up by around five times the levels witnessed six months ago. The tender brought out by the City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) saw deals struck at as high as Rs 95,000 per sqm (square metres) in places such as Palm Beach Road at Nerul. In Kharghar, land was bought at Rs 55,000 per sqm. It was Ravechi Enterprises which purchased the plot at Palm Beach. L&T to invest in Navi Mumbai project
arsen & Toubro (L&T) has announced that its property development division will spend Rs 3,500 crore to develop a commercial complex at Seawoods railway station in Navi Mumbai. Spread over 40 acres of land the company will also develop a railway station in the area. over the next three years, the company informed the Bombay Stock Exchange. L&T and the City and Industrial Development Corporation of Maharashtra (Cidco) signed a development agreement today. The companies plan to complete the devel;opment project over the next 5 years. CIDCO plans Navi Mumbai property cards
A card the size of a credit card with an embedded memory of 16 MB could soon change the way property records are maintained in Navi Mumbai.
