Max to take acquisition route for Mumbai foray
Max Healthcare, which recently completed a major restructuring, is on the prowl. The heathcare company, the leading hospital chain in the National Capital Region (NCR) with seven hospitals, is close to acquiring a hospital chain in Mumbai. The deal when signed will mark Maxs foray into the Mumbai healthcare scene.
Highly placed sources confirmed that Max Healthcare is in talks with a couple of hospitals chains in Mumbai and western India for acquisitions. A deal will be finalised in the next 3-4 months, the sources added. The company is also actively pursuing management contracts with three hospitals in the country. The company will run those hospitals.

Virgin launches Mumbai-London daily flights
Virgin Atlantic Airways today launched daily flights on the Mumbai-London-Mumbai route. The British airline will now fly seven flights a week providing a daily connectivity on the route. The daily flight will depart every day from Mumbai at 1455 hrs arriving in London Heathrow at 1935 hrs. To commemorate the launch of daily flights from Mumbai, the airline has announced a special return economy fare of Rs 17,777. Alok to wind up realty foray
Two years after it entered the realty space by signing one of the largest land deals in the country, textile major Alok Industries has decided to withdraw from this segment by 2012. It plans to come out of its realty projects by then and concentrate on the core business. The company wants to bring back the investment made in realty to partly pay its existing debt, which is around Rs 7,000 crore.
