GoAir starts Mumbai-Srinagar-Mumbai operations

Private airline Goair's Mumbai-Srinagar flight made its maiden journey on Thursday, with thecompany announcing plans to launch a service between Delhi and capital of Jammu and Kashmir. GoAir chairman Jeh Wadia, who alongwith Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Muzaffar Baig travelled on the inaugural flight from Mumbai to Srinagar, said the service will cut travel time between the two cities by nearly three times. BMC proposes modifications in property tax reforms

Stung by criticism from elected representatives who have been delaying the final decision on property tax reforms to switch from current rateable value to capital value based system, the BMC has now proposed modifications in the draft plan, hoping to get the pending bill passed. Rented tenements which are up to 350 sq ft will be excluded and owner occupied properties will get a 50 per cent of tax relief in the proposed capital value based system.
