DB Hospitality, part of the Mumbai- based real estate developer DB Group, will invest around Rs 5,500 crore to build nine hotels across India by
2014, a top company official said.
We plan to have a minimum of 12 properties by 2014. We plan to set up nine more hotels by then at an investment of Rs 5,500-crore,” DB Hospitality’s CEO Julian Groom told PTI here.
The company has three properties–Le Royal Meridien in Mumbai, Le Meridien in Ahmedabad and one property in Rajasthan, currently shut down for refurbishment.

East India Hotels Ltd plans hotels in Bangaluru and Goa
Owner of the Oberoi brand, luxury hotels group East India Hotels Ltd says it will invest Rs650 crore to strengthen its presence in Bangaluru and Goa by adding new hotel as part of its growth plans to add another 10 properties and 2,300 rooms. The group also plans to integrate the recently established Trident brand under its EIH Associated Hotels. Claridges Hotels to tie up with Swiss co
Delhi-based Claridges Hotels is about to enter into a long-term management contract with a Swiss investment firm which is foraying into the hospitality industry in India.
