The Housing and Urban Development Corporation Ltd has cut its lending rates on floating rate loans by 50 basis points for its lending portfolios of housing and urban infrastructure development, according to a press release.
For affordable housing through private sector the rate of interest on loans up to Rs 15 lakh would range from 9 to 11.5 per cent against 9.5-12 per cent earlier. For loans over Rs 15 lakh the interest is 12.5 per cent (13 per cent).
For cooperative group housing societies through public sector agencies the applicable rate will be 7-9.25 per cent and for private sector cooperative group housing societies 12 per cent.
