Brother’s blood spilled for flats worth Rs2 crore

If you thought bumping off siblings and relatives in the greed for money and power happened only in the underworld, think again.

The case of an attack and stabbing of a 45-year-old LIC agent has an uncanny resemblance to the case of Suresh Bhagat, the matka king who was killed in an accident on the Mumbai-Goa highway earlier this month allegedly by aides of Arun Gawli. Bhagats estranged wife had allegedly planned his killing.

According to the complaint filed by family friend Sanjay Shah with the Matunga police, Ajay Bhanushali, 45, was attacked and stabbed by some unidentified men in Matunga on June 22 night, while he was on his way back home after a binging session with his friends.

MUMBAI: City police are on the lookout for Gujarat animal husbandry minister Purshottam Solanki and an unidentified associate following the arrest of his two brothers here on charges of trespassing and intimidating a chawl resident in Andheri recently. CIDCO clears encroachments on plot worth Rs 400 crore in Navi Mumbai

The City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) cleared a plot estimated to be worth around Rs 400 crore of encroachments on the Palm Beach Road in Navi Mumbai on Monday. The encroached plot was reserved for a playground and garden. According to Vijay Kalam-Patil, who heads the anti-encroachment cell of the CIDCO, some 13 structures had come up on the plot in Sector 36 near Karave village of Navi Mumbai around 15 days ago.
